She obtained a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and a Master's degree in Human Rights from the University of Colombo. Additionally, she has completed specialized courses in Human Resources Management and International Human Rights, which enriches her empathetic and culturally aware teaching approach.

Born in Pakistan, Poornima is a committed Sinhala language tutor and translator. She holds a Teaching diploma from Pasdunrata National College of Education, Sri Lanka, and an EFT qualification from the British Council SL. A bilingual professional with a passion for languages and foreign cultures, she has experience teaching children and adults both individually and in groups.
