Language Trainers: What’s a fun fact about the languages you teach, or a favorite expression you ask your students to learn?
Msosi: A fun fact about the French language is that it’s known as the language of diplomacy. One of my favourite expressions to teach is "L'esprit de l'escalier," which translates to "staircase wit." It refers to the clever comeback you think of after it's too late to say it. It's a great way to introduce students to the cultural nuances of the language.
